The CPPCC’s roles include political consultation, and bringing people from all political parties, ethnic groups and walks of life into discussions about state affairs.
中國人民政治協(xié)商會議的主要職能是政治協(xié)商和民主監(jiān)督，組織參加政協(xié)的各黨派團體和各族各界人士參政議政。

關(guān)于兩會，有許多容易混淆的知識點。本期中需要注意的有“代表”和“委員 ”
全國人民代表大會的成員稱為“代表”（deputy to NPC），而中國人民政治協(xié)商會議的成員稱為“委員”（CPPCC members）。
人大會議是“X屆全國人大X次會議”（the Xth session of Xth NPC），政協(xié)會議是“全國政協(xié)X屆X次會議”（the Xth session of Xth CPPCC National Committee）。
今年就是“第十三屆全國人大二次會議”（the second session of the 13th NPC）和“全國
政協(xié)十三屆二次會議”（the second session of the 13th CPPCC National Committee）。
